EPL is pleased to be able to provide free books to children in our community this fall, while supplies last. Using Cuyahoga Reads funds, Euclid Public Library was able to purchase over 1,200 books to give away to children in our community.
Reading for pleasure has lifelong academic and economic benefits and children and young people who have books of their own at home report reading more often, and enjoying reading more, than those who do not. Book ownership is also associated with better reading performance. A 2023 study found that book ownership is one of the top three predictors of children's reading performance.
The library purchased multiple copies of several titles across many age ranges and the titles available will vary based on demand. Books will be appropriate for babies and toddlers (board and picture books), elementary students (leveled readers and chapter books), and teens (YA novels).
One book per child per visit, while supplies last. The child must be present to claim a book.
